The Fun We Had at the Mind Museum

Last November 2013, I was one of the lucky bloggers who scored free passes to the Mind Museum. I was so happy about it because I've always wanted to bring my daughter there but my budget had always kept me from doing so. Tickets for adults is P600 while P450 for kids. A bit pricey.

Anyway, I was really excited to visit the museum that I used the passes the same day I got them. With my daughter in tow, we set to explore The Mind Museum.
Passes to The Mind Musuem!
Stepping into the opening of the museum floor, I was immediately overwhelmed with the amount of exhibit. There was so much to see! On the 1st level were the things on Earth, Life, Universe and Atom, while on the 2nd level were things about Physics, Robots and anything scientifically-advanced.

My daughter and I started our tour with the Earth section where we saw life-sized displays of the early people who walked the earth,
The Early Human
a sperm whale where you can fit into the its open jaw,
Look at that whale!
a gigantic replica of the human brain complete with labels of what is where,

and the most impressive of all, the towering skeletal remains of a T-Rex!

But to make the whole experience complete, there were displays of the actual fossilized poop of a dino. It's as big as hollow blocks.
Dino Poop, anyone?!
And, there was also a paw print on the floor which I can't help but step into. I had to know how big a T-Rex is.
I feel to tiny!
Our next stop was at the Life section where most of the exhibits are real items such as the wall of plants that's grouped into their respective Family. And what fun way to know which Family they belong to than by pressing a labeled panel and the corresponding group would light up.

Another fun exhibit was the collection of tiny specimens where you can see the blown-up image on a monitor by hovering the attached handheld microscope over the display. It was cool to see what an insect's legs look like up close.
Next we wandered along the Atom section where my daughter had her hair standing on ends by touching the Van de Graaff generator. It was harmless but very fun!
Haba ng hair!
Unfortunately, we had to skip the Universe section because there were so many kids loitering around that we couldn't really enjoy the exhibits.
Next to explore was the 2nd level. We had fun taking pictures of ourselves in different costumes,
conversed and interacted with a robot
and checked-out the x-rays of spiders and chickens.
Too bad we had to rush that day. Had to attend a talk that's sponsored by the museum.

I would love to have more time exploring the whole museum, reading the tidbits of information for each display, and playing with the interactive exhibits. I think I had more fun than daughter.
And before we call it a day, we stopped by the play area just across the museum. It is called Science in the Park.
Entrance is free for museum passes holders, otherwise for only P100, you may access the unique and cool playground too.

One day in the near future, I'm gonna come back on my own. No kids in tow and I'm gonna explore each and every exhibit in the museum and read all the information they have to offer. And I can't wait!

Thanks for reading. Until my next blog!!!
