So this is a very late post about my experience with Nailaholics in SM Marikina. It was not a very good one though, but still let me share.
Because of a very hectic schedule, I had to squeeze in a mani-pedi session while doing some errands at the mall. Since I've been meaning to try it out the first time I saw it anyway, I decided to have my nails done at Nailaholics, which was just a level down from where I was doing my errand.
It was past 6 PM when I walked in and there were quiet a few customers then so I inquired if they could still accommodate me. The receptionist, who I later found out was also the manager, said they could and so I inquired about their most basic mani-pedi.
Checking out the list of their services, I was surprised to see such expensive menu. Their basic manicure, which is the Serene Island Manicure, is P180 and their basic pedicure, which is the Palm Beach Pedicure, is P220. But since I really have to have my nails done, I went ahead.
For both services, I got the basic cleaning, buffing and nail polish application. However, since it's basic, the attendant told me that the nail polish they would use is not imported thus easier to chip. So, I was offered a different set of nail polish, the Prestige Polish set which choices include OPI, Orly and China Glaze brands for an additional P40. I thought, what the heck and chose 2 colors. (I like to have colorful nails)

So while the attendant was doing her thing with my nails and I was trying to relax and take in my sorroundings, the receptionist/manager started telling off the staff which were complaining about being tired because of the steady flow of customers throughout the day.
Pamper Time |
It was really distracting and stressful to hear that kind of banter. I mean, the customers go to their salon to get pampered and to relax and what we got was hostile environment. It's also kind of scary because the attendants could take out their stress on the customers. (I've experienced that before, don't want to go through that again, thank you very much)
Anyway, my nails were done after an hour and the service was superb so it's time to pay. As per my calculation, I only had to pay P180 (mani) + P220 (pedi) + P80 (upgrade of nail polish for fingers & toes). But when I was already paying, I was told that I need to pay an additional P40 because 2 colors were used on me. What?!!!
They may have used 2 colors, but they certainly did not use double quantity. I only have 10 fingers and toes! It was the most ridiculous thing, really.
That experience has made me regret ever setting foot at that salon and it made me never want to go back again. Too bad I really liked the set-up with the plush sofas and comfy pillows and cool beach colors of blue, green and brown. Loved the canopy set-up too, super beach-ey.
